2010 SIUC Jazz Festival (Saturday, February 27, 2010)
The School of Music is proud to present the 2010 SIUC Jazz Festival. The festival will feature high school and jr. high school big bands and combos from the quad-state area in a competitive and educational setting. Attending ensembles will receive adjudication and private coaching from regional jazz educators. The day will culminate with an awards ceremony and concert featuring the SIUC Studio Jazz Orchestra, featuring Steve Reid.
The 2010 SIUC Jazz Festival is proud to announce Lead/Jazz Trumpet phenom, Steve Reid, will be this year's featured artist/clinician. Mr. Reid is a Los Angeles based freelance musician who currently records and tours as Lead Trumpet with the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Don't miss this exciting diplay of virtuosic high note, jazz trumpet playing!
