SIU Community Music School
The SIU Community Music School offers the finest, comprehensive musical instruction for children and adults in piano, strings, woodwinds, percussion, and voice. Private and group instruction is part of the SIU Egyptian Suzuki School and traditional private instruction is offered through the Community Music Program.
Additionally, the SIU Community Music School sponsors Kindermusik for young children from birth through age seven, the Civic Orchestra, and the Southern Illinois Children's Choir.
In cooperation with Carbondale Elementary District #95, the SIU Community Music School sponsors the John Thomas String Program, Lewis String Ensemble, and Saturday Strings.
